Global Scholar Challenge Powered by TOEFL

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ETS India Private Limited (“ETS India”) is conducting the Global Scholar Challenge 2025 (the “Contest”). By participating, participants will get a chance to win a Cash Prize (defined below) as per the following terms and conditions (“T&Cs”):

  1. Eligibility:
    1. Citizenship: The participant must be an Indian citizen holding a valid passport to participate in the Contest.
    2. Duration: The Global Scholar Challenge launched on February 1, 2025, and concludes on April 30, 2025.
    3. Education/Work Experience:
      •  If the participant is a student, they must be currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited Indian Higher Education Institution (college or university).
      • If the participant is a professional, they must have up to two (2) years of verifiable professional work experience.
  2. Prizes:
    1. Winner Announcement & Prize Distribution:
      • ETS India shall declare the Contest winners within 15 days after the Contest ends.
      • Cash prizes will be distributed within 30 days of the Contest’s conclusion.
    2. Cash Prizes Breakdown (Total ₹1.3 Lakh):
      • 1st Prize (1 winner): ₹50,000
      • 2nd Prize (1 winner): ₹25,000 each
      • 3rd Prize (1 winner): ₹25,000 each
      • Runner-up (3 winners): ₹10,000 each
      • Additional Rewards: 25 students will win TOEFL coupons worth ₹500, along with free prep resources worth ₹7,500.
  3. Selection Criteria:
    • Winners’ Selection: Winners will be determined solely based on their scores in the designated quiz and in case there are multiple participants with same score, the final winners will be chosen on the basis of a lucky draw.
    • Prize Disbursement: ETS India shall distribute the Cash Prize in Indian Rupees (INR), directly to the Winner’s designated bank account (provided in advance via a canceled cheque) or Amazon vouchers.
  4. Winners’ Obligations
    Promotional Activities:
    • Winners of the Cash Prize and/or Grand Prize must participate in TOEFL promotional activities as requested by ETS India.
    • Winners must act as TOEFL Brand Ambassadors, share video testimonials, and record two videos on the campus where they have enrolled.
    • Winners may also be required to promote TOEFL within their network and be provided their dedicated promo codes. 
  5. Additional Terms and Conditions:
    1. Registration: Participants shall use the following link to register for the qualifying round of the Contest: (TOEFL Global Scholar Challenge). 
    2. One-time Eligibility: A participant can win the Contest only once. Any subsequent wins will automatically be deemed void.

      3. Note: Participants of Global Scholar Challenge 1 will not be allowed to participate in Global Scholar Challenge 2.

    3. Fair Play & Disqualification:
      • By participating, participants agree to all T&Cs mentioned herein.
      • Any participant found using unfair means at any time during the Contest will be immediately disqualified at ETS India’s sole discretion.
      • ETS India reserves the right to take appropriate legal action for any violation of applicable laws.
    4. Communication & Claims:
      • By entering the Contest, participants agree to receive communications from ETS India regarding the Contest.
      • Winners must submit all required documents/details for verification within the designated timeframe. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the Prize, and ETS India may offer it to the next eligible participant.
    5. Taxes & Expenses:
      • All applicable taxes, levies, and duties related to the Prize shall be the sole responsibility of the Winner(s).
      • Any additional costs (insurance, incidental expenses, gratuities, etc.) will not be covered by ETS India.
    6. Non-transferability: The Contest Prizes are non-transferable.
    7. Right to Modify/Cancel: ETS India reserves the right to cancel, modify, amend, extend, or withdraw the Contest at any time at its sole discretion.
    8. Limitation of Liability: ETS India shall not be liable for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of or in connection with the Contest or the acceptance/use of any Prize.
    9. No Lottery: This Contest does not fall under the definition of a "lottery" as per the Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998.
    10. Data Usage & Privacy:
      • ETS India may use participant data, including test-taker information, per the ETS India Privacy Policy (Privacy Policy - ETS India).
      • Participant data may be used for future promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes without any additional compensation.
    11. Prize Distribution Issues: ETS India shall not be held liable for any delays or issues related to Prize distribution.
    12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution:
      •  The Contest shall be governed by Indian law.
      • All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi, India.
      • Any disputes arising out of the Contest shall be resolved through arbitration under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat and venue in New Delhi.
